We are looking for a freelance data science tutorial writer! If you are a seasoned writer within the data & AI space and have demonstrable experience in creating, editing, and delivering technical data & AI articles and tutorials, we want to speak with you. 

You’ll be responsible for working with one of our content editors to create our blogs and tutorials to help educate your fellow data practitioners. Through these efforts, you will help amplify and share free and valuable educational content for our audience of learners and professionals.

This is a freelance contributor role—you will preferably be able to deliver 2-5 articles per month, including work on:

  • Delivering high-quality articles & tutorials on data science, AI, analytics, business intelligence, and more
  • Researching the latest trends and technologies to deliver insightful, original content that helps our readers continue to learn 
  • Suggesting new and interesting topics that are suitable for our core audience and will drive organic traffic and engagement 
  • Creating reflective images of your content using generative AI tools (such as Midjourney or DALL-E) to help your articles stand out

We’re excited about you because you have the following:

  • You have a strong understanding of data science & AI and can write on technical subjects in the data space yourself.  
  • Detailed knowledge of at least 1 programming language (Python, R, SQL, …) or Business Intelligence Tool (Tableau, Power BI, …)

The editorial team works to publish the BEST content to our award-winning site. They’re a motley crew who are highly motivated, innovative, versatile, and comfortable driving content and editorial strategy from conception through execution in a fast-paced and high-growth environment. And while their gut instinct can take them so far, they know very well the power of data and harness it with every critical choice they make.

What Would You Do in This Role? 

With support from our editors, you’ll have the opportunity to share your thoughtful stock analysis! We cover companies in all sectors, from Apple to offshore drillers to Gilead Sciences to regional banks. We want writers who can publish at least 20 articles per month. Our most successful writers publish many more than this.  

In a turbulent industry, our track record of financial stability stands out. Our writers tend to stay with us for years – many have been here a decade or two!

But What Would You Actually Do in this role?

  • Collaborate with editors to produce insightful stock analysis (our articles usually range from 600-800 words). 
  • Cover companies across various sectors (including tech, electric vehicles, offshore drillers, healthcare, and regional banks).
  • Write and publish a minimum of 20 articles per month.
  • Use the article-level data your editors provide to pursue the most profitable article topics and angles.
  • Use proven SEO strategies to boost article performance. 
  • File your articles in a created content management system. 

Required Experience:  

  • You share our driving passion for teaching the world about the stock market.
  • You’re a skilled writer AND analyst, and you’re ready to send us samples of your work. 
  • You have a strong understanding of The Motley Fool’s investment philosophy. 
  • You have experience writing about financial topics and have written for another financial publication in the past. 
  • You have the ability to write in our tone! We’re informative but never patronizing. Our goal is to demystify the world of finance in a fun and thoughtful way.

To start, we pay you $140 per article (600-800 words). Once you’re offered a contract after a trial period, you’ll also receive variable performance bonuses monthly.

Part-Time Pharmaceutical Medical Editor

Compensation Range: $40 – 48 per hour

Our esteemed pharmaceutical client is actively looking for a Part-Time Medical Editor with experience in Medical Communications to join their forward-thinking MedComms team in a remote freelance capacity!

Our client’s Editorial team primarily (but not exclusively) reviews branded material for the Medical Communications division. Content can include graphic/print design, digital (including Web sites, interactive pdfs, and presentations), videos, and medical education material such as slides and presentations. Fact checking will be a primary duty for this opportunity.

This role is a remote, open-ended freelance contract. In order to be considered, candidates must have pharmaceutical / medcomms industry-related experience. An editing test will be given.

Responsibilities:

Copyedit materials for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Fact check content against source material.
Prepare jobs for internal review using Veeva Vault MedComms.
Collaborate with copywriters and other team members as needed.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

Experience level: Experienced
Bachelor’s degree in related field (eg English, journalism, life sciences).
Minimum 5+ years’ experience editing and fact checking pharmaceutical, medical, and/or scientific materials, preferably within an agency environment.
Previous work on MedComms is a plus as well as experience anchoring/linking in Veeva Vault MedComms.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
